A member of the scientific team of the TECHSCALE project, Petra Čechová from CATRIN, Palacký University has won the Best Poster Award at the international conference COSY COST Action CA21101. At the event focused on molecular systems, she presented a poster entitled Geometry and Phase Behaviour of Nonlamellar Lipids in Confined Environments and also impressed the audience with her accompanying presentation of the topic.
“I was very happy about the award because it is not easy to explain this issue concisely. While preparing the poster, I tried to apply the knowledge of science communication that I gained at CATRIN,” said Čechová.
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is an agency that funds research and innovation networks. It helps connect research initiatives across Europe and enables scientists to develop their ideas by sharing them with their colleagues. The goal of the COST COSY initiative is to provide computational and experimental building blocks for a fundamental understanding of the behavior of molecules in systems that restrict their movement. The platform already brings together more than 400 participants from 45 countries. Petra Čechová is also the coordinator of FemCOSY—an initiative within COSY COST that focuses on supporting women in science.
