V\u00fdzkum se zam\u011b\u0159il na molekulu 5-hydroxymethylfurfuralu, kter\u00e1 vznik\u00e1 z cukr\u016f obsa\u017een\u00fdch v rostlinn\u00e9 biomase a je pova\u017eov\u00e1na za jeden z kl\u00ed\u010dov\u00fdch meziprodukt\u016f modern\u00edch biorafineri\u00ed. Jej\u00ed \u0159\u00edzenou oxidac\u00ed lze z\u00edskat 2,5-furandikarboxylovou kyselinu, slou\u010deninu vyu\u017eitelnou jako z\u00e1kladn\u00ed stavebn\u00ed jednotku biopolymer\u016f, nap\u0159\u00edklad plastu PEF, kter\u00fd je ekologickou alternativou b\u011b\u017en\u011b pou\u017e\u00edvan\u00e9ho PET.<\/p>\n<p>Dosavadn\u00ed pr\u016fmyslov\u00e9 postupy v\u00fdroby t\u00e9to l\u00e1tky jsou v\u0161ak technologicky n\u00e1ro\u010dn\u00e9. \u010casto vy\u017eaduj\u00ed siln\u011b z\u00e1sadit\u00e9 prost\u0159ed\u00ed, zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00e9 teploty nebo tlak. P\u0159esto trp\u00ed n\u00edzkou selektivitou, co\u017e vede ke vzniku ne\u017e\u00e1douc\u00edch vedlej\u0161\u00edch produkt\u016f a vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed energetick\u00e9 n\u00e1ro\u010dnosti.
